Anything
which has an ism or an ist at the end is something to be wary of. For
political definitions usually follow such naming conventions, and when a
word has been motivated by political factors, we know the concept
supposedly backing it is null and void. Such
is the case with the current buzz-word, terrorism. The
concept of terror can only exist in the minds of people whose natural
rights to defend themselves have been taken away. "Terrorists"
don't actually cause terror to occur. It occurs when the government says
you can't defend yourself. Only after this fundamental sapient right to
defend yourself is taken away, can other unscrupulous men
"terrorize" you. This is very easy to see by a story a very good
friend of mine told me one day. Note: it's true, but names have been
changed to protect the innocent. Late
at night somewhere in Houston, Charlie's car broke down in a
"bad" section of town. He went to the first pay-phone he could
find, and dialed for assistance. While taking care of business in the
booth, three men approached the booth and were staring at him. However, as
Charlie was armed with an assortment of personal defense tools (guns), he
stared right back at them. I imagine the three men were thinking at this
point, "why is he not scared, or better yet, "terrorized"
of us?" "There must be some reason why he's not trembling in
terror, because this is a 'bad' section of town." So, they left,
probably to find some idiotic gun control advocate who prefers to be a
lamb for the slaughter and who believes the government can protect him.
After the three men left, a cop was driving by (what are the chances of
that!), and immediately stopped to exclaim to Charlie what a
"bad" section of town he was in! Bad, indeed, Mr.
Runs-with-Donuts. The
concept of terror can only exist in the minds of those who choose not to
protect themselves, for one reason or another. Government compounds the
problem, by taking more measures designed to reward immorality and punish
morality. The
only one who can defend yourself is you.
